Montsent de Pallars
2,883 m
OpenStreetMapDescription
The Montsent de Pallars stands out as a prominent peak (2,883 m) within the Axial Pyrenees, marking the boundary between Pallars Jussà (La Torre de Cabdella) and Pallars Sobirà (Llessui). It is known for its isolated position and its "beautiful and airy" shape, which makes it an excellent viewpoint.
The massif clearly separates the Vall Fosca (western slope, rocky and cliff-edged) from the Vall d'Àssua (eastern slope, covered by immense alpine meadows). Its summit is broad and flat, and contains a geodesic vertex. It is included in the FEEC 100 Cims Challenge and is located within the peripheral protection zone of the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park.
