Munt de Montsonís
Description
The Munt de Montsonís is an elevation reaching 591 meters in altitude, located in the municipality of Foradada, within the Noguera comarca.
It is situated within the protected area of the Aiguabarreig Segre-Noguera Pallaresa and rises to the west of the plain known as Els Planells, forming a natural narrow passage between Rubió and the mountain itself. At its summit, there is a geodetic vertex, and it is included in the prestigious list of the 100 Peaks of the Federation of Catalan Hiking Associations (FEEC).
Geologically, the mountain is primarily composed of limestone, featuring a complex synclinal structure. It offers good views of the surrounding area and allows for an easy ridge walk towards the southeast. The peak is popular for hiking routes and is part of the itinerary for the Trail Lo Bunker mountain race and walk.
