Puigllançada
Description
Puigllançada (2,409 m) is an emblematic peak located in the municipality of Bagà (Berguedà), forming part of the eastern edge of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and bordering Cerdanya. Known as the "gentle viewpoint of Berguedà and Cerdanya", it stands out for its rounded and less steep morphology, making it an accessible ascent much appreciated for its panoramic views. It is listed among the "100 summits" by the FEEC and recognized as emblematic by the ICC.
Geologically, Puigllançada is composed of Devonian limestones, distinct from the Serra del Cadí, and shares characteristics with the nearby Tosa d'Alp, leading to karst phenomena. Its vegetation displays a typical high-mountain gradient, with extensive Scots pine forests (Pinus uncinata) and usser grass meadows (Festuca gautieri) above the tree line. It provides important habitat for the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) and chamois.
From its summit, marked by a geodesic vertex, a 360º panorama unfolds, including Pedraforca, the Serra del Cadí, Puigmal, Cerdanya, and on clear days, even Montserrat. The northern slope hosts the Torrent Negre sector of the La Molina ski resort. Due to its gentle terrain, it is an ideal peak for beginners in snowshoeing or ski mountaineering. Popular routes typically start from Coll de Pal or La Molina.
