Ascent to Pico de Barbarisa via Barbarisa Ibones

On June 14, 2026, a 14.89 km route was completed, including the ascent to Pico de Barbarisa. The hike began from Collado de Sahún (2000 m), taking an ascending path on the left side to reach the Ibones de Barbarisa (Barbarisa Lakes).

During the ascent towards the ibones, the trail was poorly marked, but the route offered the presence of several orchids along the way. Once at the Ibones de Barbarisa, some cairns were found indicating the direction towards Pico de Barbarisa, although the use of a GPS device proved essential for navigation to the summit.

From the summit of Pico de Barbarisa, panoramic views were enjoyed, encompassing both the Ibones de Barbarisa, from where the ascent was made, as well as the Ibon del Sen and the extensive cirque of peaks surrounding the area.

The descent began by returning along the same path to the Ibones de Barbarisa. From there, the route continued downhill on the opposite side of the ravine, passing by the scenic Cascada dels Prats (Prats Waterfall). Finally, a long track was followed, leading back to the vehicle.
