Empedrats Route: A Day in Alt Berguedà to Cap de la Boixassa
Performed on 5/30/2026
Description
On May 30, 2026, a route of 12.57 km was completed in the Alt Berguedà region. The excursion, undertaken with the Club Excursionista de Sant Vicenç, followed the well-known Ruta dels Empedrats and culminated with the ascent to Cap de la Boixassa.
The itinerary included passing by the Refugi de Sant Jordi before reaching the summit. From Cap de la Boixassa, the mountain formations of Pedraforca, Cadí, Moixeró, and Penyes Altes could be observed. The area is characterized by a distinctive geological environment, typical of Alt Berguedà.
The day initially enjoyed good weather conditions. However, upon reaching the summit, thunder began to be heard towards the Puigmal area, prompting a faster descent as the storm approached. Ultimately, we did not get wet.
