Circular Hike to Castell de Sant Miquel and Muntanya dels Àngels from Girona

On June 28, 2026, a 24.34 km route was completed, allowing for the ascent of two of the FEEC's 100 Peaks: Castell de Sant Miquel and Muntanya dels Àngels. The itinerary began in Girona, from the Parking de la Copa.

The journey started towards the Monestir de Sant Daniel (Monastery of Sant Daniel), then proceeded to cross under the N-2 highway and continue the ascent towards Castell de Sant Miquel. Once at the castle, the route continued along tracks and trails that traverse the Les Gavarres massif, characterized by its Mediterranean vegetation. This section led to trails near the access road to the Santuari dels Àngels (Sanctuary of Els Àngels), located at the summit of Muntanya dels Àngels. After a refreshment break at the sanctuary, the descent began.

The return journey followed trails close to the access road before leaving it behind. The route crossed under the N-2 again and descended along the other side of the Riera de Sant Miquel (Sant Miquel Stream). The final section of the route offered an entry into the city of Girona, passing by the Muralla de Girona (Girona Wall), the Jardins d'Isidre Vicens Cubarsi (Isidre Vicens Cubarsi Gardens), the Catedral de Girona (Girona Cathedral), and crossing the Riu Onyar (Onyar River), before returning to the starting point.
