Vidrà: Ascent to Puig de les Àguiles and Bellmunt Amidst Beech Forests
Performed on 5/23/2026
Description
On May 23, 2026, a circular route of 20.93 km was completed in the surroundings of Vidrà. The itinerary combined the ascent to Puig de les Àligues with a traverse through the Baga del Curull, offering a varied experience within this region.
The path was characterized by the presence of extensive beech forests, which provided shade for much of the journey. One of the notable highlights was a visit to the Salt del Molí (Mill's Waterfall), a unique spot that adds a distinctive element to the route. Although the day was pleasant with warm temperatures, the tree cover of the beech forests ensured a cool and shaded environment for the majority of the hike.
The final section of the route led to the Santuari de Bellmunt (Bellmunt Sanctuary), allowing for the completion of the excursion with a broad perspective of the Osona region. From this elevated point, the views offered a reflective moment before embarking on the return to the starting point in the village.
