Puig del Far: Summit, Viewpoints, and Flora

On May 31, 2026, an 8.16 km route was completed, including the ascent to Puig del Far. The itinerary, chosen as an alternative plan to make the most of the day, started from a path located to the right of Font de Terrades, in the Tavèrnoles area towards Parador de Sau.

The route is considered very simple and largely follows a wide track, combined with paths that delve into the forest for the ascent to the summit. Along the way, points of interest such as the Mirador de la Roca del Migdia and Roc del Migdia are passed. Furthermore, the itinerary includes the Bassa de Santa Margarida and the ruins of the Ermita de Santa Margarida d'Ardola.

This excursion offered an opportunity for observing various orchid species, as the area, situated around 700 meters in altitude, is at an opportune intermediate point for finding the last Ophrys and the first Dactylorhiza and Epipactis of the season.
