Puigdefrou with chestnut

An outing to reach Puigdefrou (839 m) starting the ascent from Font del Bassi. A morning that reminded us of the energy autumn provides when the weather is good, allowing us to enjoy one of the FEEC 100 Peaks.

The route, round trip along the same path, was done on a wide track passing through chestnut forests. This year, thanks to the rains, we found a surprising quantity of chestnuts, many of them notably large, under the foliage—a true gift from nature.

From the summit, the good weather guaranteed clear visibility to identify key points in Les Guilleries and the surrounding area: El Far, the Susqueda reservoir, Sant Miquel de Solterra (Sant Hilari Sacalm), Santa Bàrbara, and Sant Roc, among others. An ideal route to stretch the legs and enjoy the colours of autumn!
