Comprehensive Montserrat Route: Sant Jeroni and Miranda de Santa Magdalena

On May 11, 2025, an 18.65 km route was completed through the Montserrat massif, which included the ascent of two prominent peaks from the "100 Summits" list: Sant Jeroni, the highest point of the massif, and Miranda de Santa Magdalena, a strategic viewpoint.

The day featured contrasting weather conditions, with periods of sun and warmth, interspersed with rain and hail. Despite these changing conditions, the summit of Sant Jeroni was reached with a notably low number of visitors, an unusual and appreciated circumstance for hikers.

Along the route, the tranquil Sant Jaume hermitage was discovered, a quiet spot offering extensive views towards the Montserrat Monastery. Amidst the native vegetation, a Neottia nidus-avis, a curious and uncommon orchid, was identified. The route concluded with a cultural visit to the Escolania (Boys' Choir) and the image of La Moreneta (Black Madonna) at Montserrat Monastery, providing a significant close to a day that required adaptation to the meteorological circumstances.
