Gymnadenia conopsea: The fragrant presence among the Dactylorhizas
Observed on 7/12/2025
Description
Although there were only a few specimens, the presence of the Gymnadenia conopsea was a small surprise. We found it amidst the large colony of Dactylorhiza maculata, sharing the same damp meadow habitat. It is an easily identifiable orchid due to its delicate spike of lilac flowers and its long spur, in addition to its intense fragrance.
