From Artigue, France, sleeping at the Pinet refuge (2,240 m) and passing by glacial lakes such as Etang Sourd, Estany de Pinet, Etang d'Estats, and Etang du Montcalm, to summit my first three-thousanders: Montcalm, Verdaguer, and the Pica d'Estats, the roof of Catalonia.
The great challenge which was the reason for training on other routes. One of the final peaks of the "50 Peaks for 50 Years" challenge of the Centre Excursionista de Sant Vicenç.
Intense days to conquer the Montcalm Massif with spectacular landscapes and infinite views of the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees of Catalonia, France, and the mountains of Andorra. And, as expected, some flowers along the way: a Pseudorchis albida and many Dactylorhiza maculata.
A day to remember. Now yes... the great goal, achieved!
