The Delicate Anacamptis laxiflora: 90 Specimens
Observed on 5/18/2025
Description
During one of our recent explorations in the heart of Catalonia, specifically near the town of Sils, we had the immense fortune of making a very special discovery. In a damp meadow, bathed in the spring sunshine and vibrant from recent rains, we stumbled upon an impressive colony of Anacamptis laxiflora, the elegant Lax-flowered Orchid.
The sight was strikingly beautiful: dozens of specimens raising their flowering stalks, with their characteristic pale lilac, almost translucent flowers, contrasting magnificently with the intense green of their surroundings. After a meticulous inspection, we managed to count a remarkable total of 90 specimens, all in splendid flowering condition—a true feast for the senses and a testament to the rich biodiversity of our land. An observation that, without a doubt, filled our day with joy and admiration for these hidden gems.
