Narrow-leaved Helleborine documented along the Cap de la Boixassa trail
Observed on 5/30/2026
Description
During a recent ascent along the Cap de la Boixassa trail, we conducted several local flora observations, including numerous specimens of Cephalanthera longifolia, commonly known as the Narrow-leaved helleborine.
Regrettably, a significant portion of the plants already showed signs of the impact of the high temperatures from recent days, with many individuals appearing scorched and in poor condition. This state is consistent with its flowering phenology, which extends until June, and suggests an accelerated end to the season due to the heat. Fortunately, we were able to locate some specimens that were still in good condition, displaying their characteristic pure white flowers and their distinctive long, narrow leaves, which give the species its name.
