Himantoglossum robertianum: The Pinkish Start of 2025

We've officially kicked off the 2025 orchid season with an excursion to three strategic spots around Palafolls! Our objective was clear: to find the very first flowering specimens of the spectacular Himantoglossum robertianum.

The search proved to be a resounding success! We had the pleasure of locating quite a few of these magnificent orchids, gracing the landscape with their imposing presence. Among our discoveries, some specimens particularly stood out due to a unique chromatic peculiarity: their blooms displayed charming pinkish and greenish hues, making them truly distinctive and worthy of admiration. Furthermore, we observed several plants boasting quite an impressive height, showcasing the robustness and vitality of these populations. What a wonderful way to welcome the 2025 field season!
