Ophrys araneola at Sant Martí Sacalm

During our ascent towards el Far from Sant Martí Sacalm, just as the meadows unfolded around the municipality, we were fortunate enough to make a very special discovery. We stumbled upon numerous specimens of Ophrys araneola, the marvelous Early Spider Orchid, all displaying a splendid flowering condition.

Despite their modest size, these orchids are truly captivating. What most caught our eye, without a doubt, was the vibrant yellow color outlining the border of their labellum, creating a striking contrast that makes them stand out with an unmistakable delicacy. A small wonder that reminds us of the hidden richness of our landscapes!
