Ascent to el Far: A Rendezvous with Ophrys catalaunica

During our ascent towards el Far, departing from Sant Martí Sacalm, the meadows bordering the municipality treated us to a captivating sight. There, with the gentle breeze and the sun caressing the grass, we discovered numerous specimens of Ophrys catalaunica. These small jewels, while not a rarity in this area (their presence having been well-known and celebrated for a long time) captivated us with their splendid bloom.

Each orchid displayed an impeccable condition, demonstrating the vitality of this habitat. Despite their modest size, their intense pink-lilac color makes them unmistakable and incredibly showy, gracefully standing out amidst the green of the meadow. A reminder that beauty often resides in the most delicate and familiar details of our landscape!
