First Ophrys forestieri of the Season at Montgrí

Saturday afternoon brought exciting news: the first blooms of Ophrys forestieri had been spotted at Montgrí! Without a second thought, and keen to make the most of the day's last light, we hopped in the car and headed towards the area, hoping to find these orchids.

Our search was a resounding success. We were fortunate enough to discover a large number of specimens already in full bloom, spread across 4 or 5 spots we've known from previous years. Besides the splendid Ophrys forestieri, we also had the pleasure of sighting a few Himantoglossum robertianum, a pleasant reminder of the rich orchid diversity this location offers. A field day that filled us with joy and marks a fantastic start to the season!
