Three Platanthera bifolia on the ascent to El Far

During our hike and subsequent ascent towards the majestic summit of El Far, starting from Sant Martí Sacalm, we had the delightful surprise of encountering three magnificent specimens of Platanthera bifolia, the Lesser Butterfly-orchid.

These plants were in excellent health, their delicate white flowers shining brightly amidst the alpine vegetation. Discovering these wild orchids, so full of vitality in such a unique mountain environment, was a truly magical moment. It serves as a beautiful reminder of the rich biodiversity hidden within our peaks, and the feeling of witnessing these beauties thriving in their natural habitat is an invaluable reward for any enthusiast.
