Platanthera chlorantha beside the road
Observed on 6/9/2025
Description
The Platanthera chlorantha was a notable presence in the abundant Berguedà habitat we explored. We located numerous specimens in excellent condition, sharing the space with the Dactylorhiza majalis and the Gymnadenia conopsea. This orchid is distinguished by its subtle greenish-white flowers and long spur, reminiscent of the elegance of a night moth. Its abundance on this stretch of road is an indication of the environmental quality of the soil and the adjacent forest.
