Orchid Discoveries in French Aude

This field excursion led us to the Aude region in southern France, an area known for its varied landscapes and botanical significance. The day's itinerary involved a considerable journey from our base, with several specific locations marked for orchid prospecting.
The primary objective was to document the local orchid flora, and the outing proved to be very successful. A total of 27 orchid species and 3 hybrids were recorded. This observation count met our objectives, affirming the richness of orchid biodiversity within the visited habitats.
The expedition proceeded under favorable weather conditions, which aided in the exploration and identification of the different species. This trip allowed us to expand our flora records and gather valuable data regarding the distribution of these plants across the Aude department.
